Activity Types
Activity Types are how users flag the type of interaction they had whether it was a Phone Call or a face-to-face Meeting. Map My Customers offers 7 standard Activity Types: Visit, Call, Email, Meeting, Lunch, Task, and Text. Custom Activity Types can be added to meet your organization's needs.
To add a new Activity Type:
- Go to Settings by clicking on the Gear Icon
- Navigate to the “Activity Types” tab under Organization Details on the left-hand side
- Using the “Create new type” bar at the top of the page - enter the name of the new Activity Type i.e. Product Demonstration
- Click the blue “Create” button and the new Activity Type will be added to the list
To edit Activity Types:
- Go to Settings by clicking on the Gear Icon
- Navigate to the “Activity Types” tab under Organization Details on the left-hand side
- To Reorder the Activity Types pick list:Use the six circle icon to the left of the Activity Type name to drag and move Activity Types to the desired order
- To Disable Standard Activity Types:Use the gray “Disable” button next to any of the Standard Activity Types to hide these from the pick list when adding Activities
- Standard Activity Types cannot be “deleted” or renamed but disabling the option will prevent users from using this selection. Be cautious when disabling Activity Types associated with Quick Actions
- To Edit / Delete Custom Activity Types: Use the Activity Type name text box to make edits to the name of this Activity Type. Use the red Delete button to remove any Custom Activity Types that are no longer needed
Note: Disabling a Standard Activity type or Deleting a Custom Activity type will not delete any Activities that have already been logged with this type. Disabled / Deleted types will be hidden from dropdowns upon creation of an activity. However, some activities may display this type if created previously or is synced in from an integration.
- Click the blue “Save Changes” button in the upper right corner to confirm these edits
To enable an Activity Type for Check Ins:
- Go to Settings by clicking on the Gear Icon
- Navigate to the “Activity Types” tab under Organization Details on the left-hand side
- Use the toggles on the right side of the Activity Types to turn on types that are “Check In” eligible - Check Ins capture the user’s location when being logged and are recommended for in person interactions
- When logging a Check-In from the mobile app, users will only be able to select from types that are switched “On”. Users can still log standard activities (without location verification) with any enabled type.
- Check In default Activity Type will be the Activity Type that is marked Check In eligible that is closest to the top of the list order
- Click the blue “Save Changes” button in the upper right corner to confirm these edits
