The Map My Customers Sandbox environment will allow you to test different functionality and account configurations without affecting your true account data. Use a Sandbox to test new Custom Field configurations, integrations with CRM sandbox environments, permissions and team hierarchy changes and more without impacting your users or data in the true production environment.
If you are an account admin / Team Owner, to create a Sandbox environment, go to Settings (Gear Symbol) on the web version of the application and select “Sandbox Environments” from the left navigation menu Data section.
Note: The Sandbox environment is only accessible in the MMC web version at this time
Creating a New Sandbox
To create a new Sandbox environment, select the blue “Create Sandbox” button and provide a name for this Sandbox instance:
You will then select the components from the right panel pop up that you would like to clone from your Production environment into your Sandbox environment:
If you do not have an active integration connected to your Production environment, you will be unable to clone this element to the Sandbox environment. If you would like to connect an external Sandbox instance directly to the MMC Sandbox, this can be done once the Sandbox environment is created.

Once you have selected the elements you would like to copy into the Sandbox environment, click “Save Sandbox Configuration”
Note: Copying Workflows from the Production environment will also require copying Custom Fields and the Saved Filters.
Using the Sandbox Environment
Once your Sandbox is created, it can be accessed from Settings > Data > Sandbox Environments at any time.
When you are working in the production environment, the status next to the name of the Sandbox will read “Not active”.
To move into the Sandbox environment, click the blue “Switch to Sandbox” button:
When you have switched to working out of the Sandbox environment, the banner will appear green and the status will change to “Active”.
Navigating the MMC Sandbox is mirrored functionality to the Production environment. While working in the Sandbox environment, you will see a banner underneath the navigation bar to quickly alert you which environment is being used:
Use the “Back to main account” button in either the Sandbox banner or the banner at the top of the screen to switch back into the Production environment.
Use the “Clone configuration to production” button if any changes were made to the Custom Fields, Users and Permissions, Integration Wizard, Activity Types, Saved Filters, Groups, Territories or Layouts, these changes will now be copied back to the Production environment.
Limitations in the Sandbox Environment
The following MMC features will not work in the Sandbox environment and are to be used in Production only:
- Frequency Alerts
- Planner Smart Suggestions
- Lead Finder
- Rot Limits on Deals
