Groups are used in Map My Customers to segment data, share records, or filter map views.
By default, users will have access to all the records they own in Map My Customers. If a user is in a Team Manager role, they will also have access to the records their Team Members own. Groups will allow you to share additional company, people and deal records beyond direct record ownership. Granting a user access to a group will grant access to every record in that group.
Segmenting customers and data is another way to use groups - create groups by customer tier, product line, target list, and more. Groups can also be used to filter maps, create call lists and reports.
To access Groups:
- Tap on the “Map” icon on the bottom navigation bar
- Tap on the “Groups” option at the bottom of the screen
- Here you will be able to view and manage your groups
Groups can be created based on Companies, People, or Deal records.
To create a Group:
- Tap on the “Map” icon at the bottom navigation bar
- Tap on the “Groups” button at the bottom of the screen
- From the Groups page, select the record type (Company, People or Deals) that you would like to create a Group for and tap on “+Add Group” on the top right of the screen
- Add a Group Name and select a color you would like to assign this group
- To assign a Frequency for a specific group, toggle on “Set Frequency”

To edit a Group:
- Tap on the “Map” icon at the bottom navigation bar
- Tap on the “Groups” option at the bottom of the screen

Select the record type and the Group you would like to edit

Tap the ellipses / three dots button in the top right corner to apply changes to the whole group or select a record from the list if you want to apply changes to that specific Company, People, or Deal.
- From here you can choose a color, manage the frequency, change the name, or delete the group.

You can also make edits individually by using the pencil icons.
To remove records from Groups:
- Go to "Maps" at the bottom Navigation menu
- Tap on "Groups"
- Select the Group you want to remove records on
- Slide the Record name to the left and tap on "Remove from Group"
You can also remove records from groups by going to the Company/Person/Deal record view
To remove records from Groups on the Record view:
- Go to the record by either using the Search bar or the Map view
- Tap on the record name
- Go to "Relationships"
- Tap on "Manage" next to Groups
- Remove the record from the selected group
